Bae Yoon Hwan: Heavy Breathers

Gallery Baton is pleased to announce _Heavy Breathers,_ a solo exhibition by Bae Yoon Hwan (b. 1983) from 27 June to 31 July 2026. The artist’s practice has long been informed by an interest in beings that endure and survive amid changing environments. In the new works, elephants, noses, and fragmented objects emerge as bodily forms that continue to breathe under the pressures of time. For Bae, breath is both the minimum condition of survival and a rhythm of existence that persists despite friction with the world. The exhibition examines how beings endure and persist within an ever-changing world.
