Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Arting (“the Service”, “we”, “our”, “us”) handles information when you use our iOS and iPadOS applications, our website at arting.art, and our venue manager portal at manager.arting.art.
The Short Version
For regular users, we don’t collect your data. The Arting app and website are designed to be completely private:
- No account required to browse or save exhibitions
- No personal data collection
- No tracking or analytics (only anonymous crash reports)
- No ads
- All data stored locally and synced via your iCloud (not our servers)
For venue managers, we collect limited account information necessary to operate the manager portal. See Manager Portal User Data below.
Information We Collect (Regular Users)
None. For users of the Arting iOS app and website, we do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. We don’t track which exhibitions you view or save — there’s nothing to collect.
Information Stored on Your Device and iCloud
The following information is stored on your device and synced via iCloud:
- Favorite exhibitions: Exhibitions you’ve bookmarked
- App preferences: Your settings and customizations
This data syncs across your devices via Apple’s iCloud service. It is stored in your personal iCloud account — we have no access to it. Your data never touches our servers.
Network Requests
Arting makes network requests only to:
- Fetch exhibition data from our API at api.arting.art
- Load images of exhibitions and venues
The exhibition data API provides publicly available information about art exhibitions in San Francisco. We do not track which exhibitions you view or save.
Third-Party Services
Arting does not integrate with any third-party advertising or tracking services.
Diagnostics & Crash Reporting
To improve app stability, Arting collects anonymous crash reports and error diagnostics via Datadog. This data includes:
- Crash logs and stack traces
- Device type and OS version
- App version
This diagnostic data contains no personal information, no account identifiers, and no information about your favorites or viewing activity. It is used solely to identify and fix bugs.
Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud using Apple’s secure frameworks
- iCloud sync uses your personal Apple ID — we have no access to your iCloud data
- We do not have access to your data at any point
