About
Petrine is pleased to present The Attic , an exhibition of three looping works by Jessica Wilson. On the ground floor, a projection entitled Pathetic Fallacy permeates smoke simulations made in the software Houdini. In the corner, Fountain (Weeping Outlet) is composed of a French standard electrical socket leaking from its holes. In the basement, Siren features conical speakers arranged radially around a post, a form associated with public alert systems. Shortened in the gallery to ear level, it plays an audio track of the artist’s spouse mimicking emergency sirens with the guitar. Jessica Wilson (b. 1991, New York) lives and works in New York and Amsterdam. She recently completed her residency at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Selected exhibitions include diez, Amsterdam; SOLDES, Los Angeles; The Photographers Gallery, London; New Museum, New York; and PAGE (NYC), New York.
