Guided tours (in French) The Gallo-Roman Baths in Lutetia Towards the end of the 1st century, when Paris was still known as Lutetia, the public baths played a central role in the Gallo-Roman city. A major hub for socialising and interaction, open to all, people came here to take part in sporting activities, wash and relax, but also to foster social, political and diplomatic relationships. These baths, known as the thermal baths, are still partly visible today. Join us on a guided tour to walk in the footsteps of the inhabitants of Lutetia, stroll through the 'frigidarium' – a cold room with a vaulted ceiling reaching a height of 14 metres – and wander through the underground galleries to understand how they functioned. Set between a courtyard and a garden, this exceptional building has enjoyed considerable success over the years, eventually becoming one of the capital's first museums in the 19th century.
