About
Rossella Rossi develops a style of painting deeply inspired by water, which she sees it as an essential and symbolic element. Her work, shaped by an “aquatic imagination,” suggests nature rather than depicting it realistically, expressed through intense and vibrant colors. Her artworks often feature female figures immersed in water, engaged in introspective journeys. She seeks to capture the soul and transformations of the sea, translating its sensations into sensitive and immersive images. Her series invite the viewer to a personal and introspective experience, reflecting her belief that “to see is to imagine.” Her recent works explore seascapes, plays of light, and lush vegetal worlds, where her creatures pursue a quest for the mystery of life. Her use of the circular format (tondo) reinforces themes of the cycle of life and the sight. In continuity with Italian tradition, she blends heritage and modernity, celebrating nature and light through a poetic and expressive style. Her art, poised between dream and reality, is recognized as a form of symbolism connected to water.
