Rebgong Art was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009, with thangka painting forming an important part of this living tradition. In the world of thangka, every delicate line, vivid colour and richly detailed image carries a heartfelt wish for a better life: peace and well-being for ourselves and our loved ones; clarity of mind and greater wisdom; compassion towards others; and a life filled with blessings and abundance.
