Oi! Spotlight — Space · Ecology · Poetics: Zheng Jing's Way of Art

Oi! is honoured to invite Zheng Jing, a renowned multi-disciplinary artist and Professor at the China Academy of Art from the Chinese Mainland, to present his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong, encapsulating his artistic explorations over the past 25 years. Focusing on non-solid media, such as water, sound, air and light, the exhibition interacts with the venue to form a unique "ecology", inviting viewers to wander through and rediscover the purpose of art in public space and its relationship to the environment. During his research and preparation stage, Zheng recorded sounds and conducted spatial scanning in various public spaces throughout Hong Kong. By integrating these elements, he breaks and reconstructs the boundaries of time and space in a novel way, creating a unique resonance of Hong Kong. This exhibition marks the first "Spatial Ecology Report" of his career, showcasing both his early and latest works, alongside his international public art initiative, the "Expeditionary Light" public art project. This exhibition offers Hong Kong audiences a multi-sensory, interdimensional experience that reflects his unique insights and artistic stance.
