About
Copper, a material drawn from nature, has long been a trusted companion in artistic creation. Copperplate etching embodies a unique balance of strength and delicacy, giving rise to a visual language rich in depth and expression. The course will introduce the core techniques, including linear hard ground, textured soft ground, and tonal aquatint. Participants will advance from raw metal preparation to professional editioning and studio critique. Jeannie Wong holds an MA in Print from the Royal College of Art, London, and a BA in Visual Arts from the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University. She was awarded the HKOP Award in Printmaking and was selected for the Awagami International Miniature Print Exhibition in Japan. In recent years, she actively presented solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions, including the 20/20 Hong Kong Print Art Exhibition at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
