About
CHAT's flagship community project Seed to Textile began with a special gift from India: indigo seeds. Since 2019, we have been connecting nature, textiles and art through participatory experiences such as farming, crafting and gallery practice. _Costumes of Vivid Currents_ looks back on the 2026 edition of the programme and invites us to reflect on the deep interdependence of people and Mother Nature. It presents a series of sustainable garments created over the past year by Seeders, led by Hong Kong fashion designer Yeung Chin, Indian dance artist Neesha Jhaveri and Hong Kong choreographer Wong Sui Lun Alan. They nurtured plants, produced natural dyes, and crafted dance costumes from hand-dyed fabrics, preloved clothing and block-printed textiles co-created by more than 10,000 participants during the summer exhibition. Worn in a large-scale community performance, these vibrant costumes embody the joy of this cross-disciplinary learning journey and ask: can textiles reveal ways for humanity and nature to coexist in harmony?
