v1.8 — Multi-Language, Data Accuracy, Stability & UX Polish (March 2026)

This v1.8 release focused on more reliable exhibition data, better city-aware behavior, and smoother day-to-day app use.

  • Spanish, French, Italian & German — Arting now supports multiple languages for our international users
  • Support for more Cities — Exhibition fetching now loads the active city only for faster loading and refreshing
  • More Accurate End Dates — Exhibitions now stay active through the full listed end date (end of day), reducing premature expiration
  • Map & List UX Polish — Improved empty states (including clearer error messaging), simplified map navigation chrome, and cleaner loading indicators
  • Accessibility Enhancements — Cluster venue selection rows and sheets were updated for better readability and interaction clarity

  • Better Event Sync — Exhibition events persist more reliably when feed updates are applied
  • Safer Startup Flow — App bootstrap and model container initialization were refactored to improve recovery behavior when initialization fails
  • Faster Filtering Paths — Exhibition filtering and cluster recomputation were optimized to reduce unnecessary work and keep browsing responsive
  • More Robust State Changes — Seen-status toggle handling was improved to avoid in-flight conflicts during rapid interactions

v1.7 — Map Speed & Filter Polish (February 2026)

This release focuses on making map browsing feel faster and cleaner, especially in dense areas with many venues.

  • Faster Search — Search input is now more responsive with reduced delay
  • Smarter Favorites — Favorites now filter by your selected city for a more focused experience
  • Performance Boost — Database optimizations for faster exhibition filtering and browsing
  • Updated Seen Icon — The Seen tab now uses a clearer eye icon
  • Scroll to Top — Exhibition list automatically scrolls to top when you change filters
  • Feed Freshness — Settings now displays when your exhibition feed was last updated, so you always know how current your data is

v1.4 — Multi-City & Search (February 2026)

A major update bringing multi-city support and new ways to find exhibitions.

  • Multi-City Support — Arting now covers more than just San Francisco! Announcing LA! Choose your city during onboarding or switch anytime
  • Auto-Detect Location — The app automatically detects when you are visiting a new city
  • Exhibition Search — New search bar to quickly find exhibitions by name or venue

  • Better Favorites Sync — Favorites are now stored more reliably in CloudKit sync
  • Improved Location Service — Better city detection and map navigation

v1.3 — Public Art & Polish (January 2026)

A focused update improving public art support, in-app browsing, and data sync reliability.

New Features

  • Public Art Support — Public art venues now show a dedicated “Permanent Public Art” display with clear messaging that these works are always on view and free to visit

  • In-App Safari Browser — Website links now open directly within the app, so you never lose your place
  • Smarter Date Display — Long-running exhibitions now show “thru [end date]” for cleaner cards

  • View on Web — New button on exhibition details lets you open the original gallery or museum page in Safari for additional info
