About
At the center of The Silence of the Mole lies a reflection on how a figure once embodying childhood innocence and poetic silence has been transformed into a mascot of cultural diplomacy, a licensed commodity, and a nostalgic myth—a symbol of stolen fantasy. The project examines how the Mole, chosen to represent the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic as a diplomatically acceptable and politically neutral icon, also comes to embody reproach, silence, and a confused identity.
