About
Pioneering interdisciplinary artist Amanda Heng and curator Selene Yap are the artistic team representing Singapore at the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia (Biennale Arte) in 2026. The Biennale Arte is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious global platforms for contemporary art and will run from 9 May to 22 November 2026. For the Singapore Pavilion, Heng will draw on her decades-long interdisciplinary practice, exploring the body as a site of memory, care and encounter through performance, installation and everyday gestures. Her presentation will be curated by Yap, whose dialogic approach to curating offers a meaningful complement to Heng's work. This marks the 12th presentation of the Singapore Pavilion, commissioned by the National Arts Council (NAC), supported by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and organised by SAM.
