About

**_Between Hours_** is an ongoing monoprint series—each piece a one‑of‑a‑kind work—exploring the emotional and perceptual shifts that occur during travel, arrival, and liminal time, as well as remembering loved ones no longer with us, feelings that often surface in the quiet space above the clouds. Each print captures a moment within a dusk‑to‑dawn spectrum and other nuanced times, sequenced by colour temperature and atmosphere, as well as the sensations and emotions that arise. This series reflects on anticipation and stillness, and while rooted in the artist's own experience, it invites viewers to let their thoughts wander—toward their travels, remembered loved ones, and moments of sentiment in their own way. Eiko Nishida is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the subtle aspects of daily life through themes of language, perspective, and being present. She holds an MFA from Hunter College in New York (2023) and a BSc in Chemistry from Shimane University in Japan (1998). She was selected for The Six Foot Platform (2025, NY, U.S.), completed the SOMA Summer Residency (2025, Mexico City, Mexico), and currently works within the Kala Artist‑in‑Residence Program. Her work has been shown internationally, including Strawberry Creek Park (2025, CA, U.S.), Pil Seung Sa (2024, Seoul, South Korea), KIOSK (2023, Glasgow, Scotland), Atamian Hovsepian Curatorial Practice (2023, NY, U.S.), Gallery G (2019, Hiroshima, Japan), and the Singapore Art Book Fair (2014, Singapore). Her projects have been featured in The Berkeley Times (2025), The North American Post (2024), Chugoku Shimbun (2023, Japan), Hyperallergic (2023), AFTERGLOBE (2014, Singapore), among others.
