About

Creative Growth proudly announces Stereo Dynamic, an electrifying group exhibition celebrating artists who draw inspiration from the world of music. For five decades, music legends, sonic history, and the energy of soul, disco, and dance-inspiring grooves have served as the sparkling disco ball illuminating Creative Growth's vibrant studio practice. Spanning genres and mediums, Stereo Dynamic showcases a rich legacy of music videos, custom instruments, and musical collaborations. Join us to celebrate the tracks, icons, and beats that inspire the art. The exhibition features multi-sensory experiences, including handcrafted instruments, hand-painted vinyl records, and a larger-than-life boombox by Deaf+ alum John Mullins. Radiating through the space alongside his classic tape paintings, Mullins expresses his unique relationship with sound using electric color and dynamic energy. Adding textural dimension to the show, Zina Hall debuts an intricately embroidered portrait series featuring Gladys Knight & The Pips, a deeply felt homage to the musicians who imprinted unforgettable memories. Jamie Freid showcases two custom instruments, including a pyrographic violin. Freid will also lead an inclusive exhibition tour designed with tactile elements and visual descriptions specifically tailored for Blind and low-vision guests. Visitors will be sonically immersed through artist-curated playlists on rotation, featuring music from William Scott's album, Peacemakers in the Summertime, alongside his striking painted portrait of SFOS Dreamgirl, Diana Ross. Opening night kicks off with an unmissable glam rock window installation by Aurie Ramirez, plus live performances by Creative Growth artists and a live DJ set from Gerone Spruill.
