About
This year’s student exhibition marks the 53rd annual art show of the Bolinas-Stinson School District, and we are thrilled to once again present it at the Bolinas Museum. This year’s theme, “Across Mediums, Beyond Meaning,” highlights the depth and significance that emerge when students are given the freedom to explore a wide range of materials and collaborate in small groups. The exhibition offers a glimpse into the diverse and inspiring work created by our students, including abstracted landscapes inspired by Spanish-speaking artists; digitally fabricated stamps paired with traditional woodworking; hand-built ceramic water fountains; and handmade stained glass suncatchers and mosaics, among many other projects. The Art Shops program, founded in 1974, promotes creativity, joy, and visual arts learning while fostering technical skills, creative problem-solving, and cultural understanding. When integrated across subjects, the program builds meaningful connections between disciplines and supports evolving learning goals. All lessons are aligned with the California Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Standards. Supported by strong collaboration among school staff, families, and the Bolinas–Stinson community, the program continues to thrive. The annual student exhibition at the Bolinas Museum not only celebrates student achievement but also strengthens the connection between the school and the broader community.
