About

The characters, monuments, and landmarks in this mural were imagined by students at New York City high schools. Set in a parallel version of New York City, known as Gotham, the scene interweaves the students' stories and ideas, reflecting a community that cares for one another, grows together, and manifests creativity. This mural was created as part of DonChristian Jones's Adobe Creative Residency at MoMA, a yearlong, sponsored residency opportunity for New York City–based artists with a demonstrated commitment to engaging communities as part of their practice. The mural artists are Victor A. Saint-Hilaire (VASH), DonChristian Jones, Public Assistants with students from Academy of American Studies, H.E.R.O. High (Health, Education, and Research Occupations High School), and New World High School.
