This show presents a cross section of nearly five decades of graphic design, 228 posters, handbills and prints from 1979 to 2025, Made by Mike King , America's most prolific concert poster artist, the creator of over 5000 posters for every musical style, from free jazz to death metal, as well as posters for a wide variety of events, products and ideas. Most were meant to be stapled on phone poles or presented in shop windows only to be replaced by the next poster and quickly forgotten. Some were sold at concerts as a mementos of nice night out and while others were produced as expressions of the Mike's anger or confusion or fear This exhibit contains posters, handbills and art prints produced in a variety of methods, including screen printing, photocopy and commercial printing. Whether working in the commercial world or for his own amusement, Mike's attempts to bring humor and flair to everything he does.
