About
**Tomas Harker** (b.1990, United Kingdom) lives and works in London. His works addresses the nature of meaning in conditions of mediated experience and hyperreal saturation. Harker's practice often draws from a variety of image production and distribution systems in an attempt to make sense of a cosmic order becoming increasingly disordered. His paintings reflect the increasing murkiness and confusion of contemporary life, whilst remaining mindful of the dynamics of power benefiting from uncertainty. Exhibitions include _Tomas Harker_, Nicodim, New York (forthcoming); _Emily Ferguson / Tomas Harker / Sol Kordich_, Nicodim, New York (2026); _Sherwood Forest_, The Sunday Painter, London (2025, solo); _Painting, Photography, Painting_, Olney Gleason, New York (2026); _Remain in Light: Tomas Harker, Laurent Proux, Robert Yarber_, Nicodim, Los Angeles (2025); _The Lightness of Being_, Nicodim Annex, Los Angeles (2024, solo); _Multiple Choice Fairytale Ending_, The Sunday Painter, London (2023, solo); _New Ancients_, Guts Gallery, London (2023); _The Artist is Present_, Guts Gallery, London (2022); _Apotrope_, CobGallery, London (2022); _I haven't been Sleeping_, Screw Gallery, Leeds (2021, solo); _Bloomberg New Contemporaries_, South London Gallery, London (2021); _Third Nature_, Copeland Gallery, London (2021, solo); _A Sea in Suspense_, Bo.lee Gallery, London (2019, solo); _There's something about Painting_, Tatjana Pieters, Ghent (2019); _Cite_, Bo.lee Gallery, London (2018); and _Syzygy_, Leeds Arts University, Leeds (2018).
