About
Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present _amuse-bouche_, a group exhibition focused on the small scale. Returning for its second iteration, the exhibition pays homage to our enduring fascination with the miniature. Featuring over 60 works from 27 artists, _amuse-bouche_ celebrates the unpretentious simplicity of scale, with all of the artworks measuring under 12 inches. Taking various styles and approaches, these works foster an immediate sense of intimacy, intrinsically drawing the viewer in closer. Audrey Bialke's _Many Quiet Mornings_ depicts a serene outdoor scene with subtle elements of folklore and intricately painted borders. _Field Poppies,_ a three dimensional landscape painting by Barry Hazard, is endlessly charming at just 3 inches tall. Artist duo We Are Out Of Office's _Palermo_ focuses on vegetables being sold at a market stand, showcasing the beauty in everyday moments. Catie Cook's _Persuasion_ offers a zoomed in look at a Dalmatian's eye with meticulous care and detail. Join us for the opening of _amuse-bouche_ on Saturday, August15th with a reception from 6-8 pm. Many of the artists will be present. The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, May 10th.
