About
Harper's is delighted to announce the launch of Harper's Bangkok, the gallery's first international location, inaugurated by Lost and Found, a presentation of new paintings by Joel Mesler created especially for Thailand. The exhibition opens this evening, March 30, 5:30–8pm, with a reception attended by the artist. The event is free and open to the public. Harper's Bangkok is housed in a striking, street-facing space within Siam Patumwan House, a vibrant new business and cultural complex in the heart of Bangkok. The gallery is ideally situated adjacent to the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre (BACC) and just a short walk from the Jim Thompson House. Harper's Bangkok was designed by studioMDA, the architectural firm behind our flagship New York City location, in close collaboration with leading Thai architects and craftspeople. Spanning nearly 2,500 square feet, the space offers a dynamic setting for exhibitions and cultural dialog. Within this new space, Harper's Bangkok will present our international roster alongside artists new to the program, fostering meaningful exchange between local and global audiences. It is an honor to play a small part in Bangkok's remarkable emergence as a global destination for art and culture. In recent years, the city has welcomed outstanding institutions such as Bangkok Kunsthalle and the newly opened Dib Museum, alongside a surge of ambitious private initiatives functioning at the highest level of engagement. As the first major Western gallery to establish a presence in the city, Harper's enters a serious and rapidly maturing Thai art ecosystem that is already operating with confidence on a regional—and increasingly international—stage. The gallery is thrilled to join an exciting network of artists, curators, institutions, and collectors shaping new conversations across the region and beyond.
