David Miretsky: American Beauty

Following Miretsky’s retrospective _Vanity_ at our gallery, his new exhibition, _American Beauty_, focuses on his most recent body of work, paintings done from 2023 to 2025. If his previous show was an ode to the work of George Grosz and Otto Dix and the Roaring Twenties, _American Beauty_ is an ode to the Renaissance era and to Da Vinci and Raphael. If the works in Vanity were about dislocation and longing, the works in American Beauty are about being anchored. Miretsky, the Ukrainian artist living in the diaspora, has become Miretsky, the American artist settled in Brooklyn. The work here is a celebration of American Beauty through the eyes of Miretsky.
