About
Crafts on Peel is a charitable foundation in Hong Kong to revive, reinterpret and perpetuate traditional craftsmanship by fostering collaborations between traditional craftsmen, contemporary artisans and creative individuals across disciplines. Through various programmes, the Foundation nurtures the younger generations to incorporate traditional skills into innovative contemporary design. Central to these events is the concept of " creative cross-pollination"—a dynamic process where seemingly disparate ideas and techniques, drawn from diverse sources with traces of common ground, are brought together to generate something entirely new. The convergence of diverse cultural perspectives, the expertise of skilled makers, and the insights of forward-thinking designers within this space creates a crucible for innovation. Generously supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London, Crafts on Peel brings to you three events that celebrate Hong Kong crafts – an exhibition, a panel discussion and a material discovery and craft demonstration, all taking place at the Royal Society of Sculptors.
