About
As the 'Bayeux Tapestry' returns to the UK for the first time in almost 1,000 years, 'Beyond Bayeux: Tapestry Now' celebrates tapestry as one of the world's oldest, yet most vibrant and evolving art forms. Created in collaboration with world-renowned Dovecot Studios, the exhibition brings together more than 20 artists who are redefining tapestry today. Featuring extraordinary collaborations between Dovecot's master weavers and leading artists including David Hockney, Yinka Shonibare, Tania Kovats, Alberta Whittle and Rachel Maclean, alongside major new commissions with Hurvin Anderson and Farshid Moussavi, the exhibition showcases the weaver's remarkable skill. Discover how today's artists are reimagining one of the world's oldest art forms. 'Beyond Bayeux: Tapestry Now' invites you to rethink what tapestry can be and explore its continuing relevance in the 21st century.
