Angela Heisch

GRIMM is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of new paintings by Angela Heisch, on view at the London gallery from November 26, 2026 to January 9, 2027. This will be the artist's fourth exhibition with the gallery and her first in the London location. Heisch's luminous fields of colour emanate an organic, kinetic intricacy. Unruly accretions of curved and delicate forms flock the picture plane, colliding and fusing where moments of energy and stillness converge. Populated with repeated motifs, gestural lines and gently unfolding forms, her compositions fold into one another across the canvas. Built through carefully layered applications of oil paint, the works possess a desirous and emotional tenor to them, recalling the patterns and structures of the natural world. Each painting is characterised by a fluid sense of movement, held in balance through opposing elements: light and dark, hard and soft, surface and depth. Exploring fullness and density, Heisch's repeated, tangible forms anchor this momentum, inviting viewers to engage with the shifting currents of abstraction, where possibilities and meanings remain in continual flux.
