About

Gagosian is pleased to announce an exhibition of new work by Cady Noland at its Davies Street gallery, opening on October 12, 2026. In conjunction with the exhibition, Gagosian is relaunching _The Clip-On Method_, a two-volume, 600-page publication conceived, edited, and designed by the artist and published in 2021. _The Clip-On Method_ operates as an artwork in its own right, offering an immersive survey of Noland's work. Structured as a nonlinear archive, the book combines extensive photographic documentation of Noland's sculptures and installations with a wide-ranging selection of sociological, political, and historical texts alongside the artist's own writings. This includes Noland's 1989 essay titled "Towards a Metalanguage of Evil," which holds particular resonance today. _The Clip-On Method_ presents a comprehensive visual record of Noland's practice over the past four decades. It records the artist's sustained analysis of the material and symbolic architecture of American culture while highlighting the recurring themes central to her practice with remarkable clarity: the mythology of American identity, systems of power and control, violence, celebrity, racism, media culture, and the psychological structures that underlie social behavior.
