Shielded Hearts

Shielded Hearts is a project led by Sam Dawood and in collaboration with Lydia Reeves, transforming detailed body casts of trans-masculine people into sculptural, wearable works of art. With trans rights under threat and trans bodies increasingly suppressed, scrutinised and politicised, we look to assert and reclaim visibility. To present trans-masculine people as individuals, with their own histories and experiences, to be honoured and celebrated.
