Big Things Coming tells the story of Degular, who works as a data-labeller by day and rapper by night. At work, Degular describes images with a language that is objective, manageable, promptable, calculated rather than “lived”. One night, Degular takes the stage at an open-mic and begins rapping, but its performance is received as try-hard and unimaginative. The following morning, at work, Degular is shown an unspeakable image by its boss and asked how it feels.
