Yuko Mohri: In Concert

Japanese artist Yuko Mohri transforms The Curve with a new site-responsive commission exploring states of flux and acts of repair via light, sound and kinetic sculpture featuring Barbican objects. Mohri's practice is grounded in DIY aesthetics, surrealist assemblage, experimental music and an enduring fascination with the flow of energy. Her sculptures often combine ordinary objects—from umbrellas to feather dusters, apples to xylophones—with what she terms 'unstable elements', including magnetism, humidity, air, water and gravity. Mohri's continuously transforming installation will respond to the gallery's atmospheric conditions, and explore ideas of entropy, transience and renewal resonating with the Barbican's current period of renovation.
