About
A free exhibition inviting you to tune into your immediate surroundings, to question how interconnected we all are and what that means for the planetary crises we face. In a new site-specific commission, Yuko Mohri responds to the unique architecture of The Curve, its environmental conditions and the effect visitors have on the space. The Japanese artist's dynamic practice spans kinetic sculpture, sound, film, photography and painting; she creates installations which continually transform, examining the force of chance and the imperceptible things around us. Often repurposing found and everyday objects, Mohri triggers chains of reaction activated by “unstable elements” – including magnetism, electricity, gravity, dust and water – to humorous and surprising effect. The unpredictable and transient nature of these installations, affected and altered by the visitors around them, resonate with the ecological and social precarity of our time.
