About
This two day, 20-person workshop provides hands-on experience with audio-based methodologies and introduces sonic investigation as a response to the limits of visual evidence. Investigators at Earshot will guide participants into the emergent world of audio analysis and demonstrate the techniques of listening required to produce advocacy for the most urgent issues of our time. Participants will learn the fundamentals of how to read the frequencies of ecological destruction, how to use audio to locate actors within a crime scene, and verify deepfakes. At a moment when testimonies and videos are being undermined, this workshop demonstrates another tool for analysing events, identifying manipulation and documenting forms of violence which evade the camera's view.
