About

Drugs enter the veins of our bodies. Plastic enters the veins of our planet. Both distort our past, our present, and our future. Loud & Clear by Jordan "Soup" Campbell reflects on what has been injected into our communities chemically, environmentally, and systemically and what we are left to carry. Through image, material, and space, the work asks us to see health as a shared ecosystem, where the wellbeing of people and planet are inseparable. The conversation must change. And care must move beyond words, into action Campbell's first solo exhibition at Blanc includes portraits of students and their stories, as well as canvases depicting the statistical realities of drug policy and its impacts. A sculptural installation of redemptive plastics, pallets, and plywood reflects on earth's drug—plastic—as both a byproduct and metaphor for addiction, consumption, and environmental strain.
