About
_Matters of Consequence_ is a temporary sculptural installation by artist Lan Tuazon in a bustling student center that explores how art can help us think and act towards our shared survival, environment, and care for one another. It is the third in Tuazon’s series of “test sites”—spaces that invite people to reimagine new ways of living together. Inspired by a 15th-century painting of a _studiolo_, a room that functions as both a private study and a public studio, Tuazon reimagines the University Hall Atrium at the University of Massachusetts, Boston as a place for the University community to gather for events, learning, and exchange. The materials of the exhibition—steel, upcycled sheet pressed plastic, and donated community property—reflect Tuazon’s ongoing reflection on the economy of objects. Throughout the exhibition period, students, alumni, and faculty are invited to [**submit proposals**](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeM4L9cB7sA4D5rsMRqgHsIwkcGqRrQs_1RgnCjv7Ux7nAcuQ/viewform) to use the space for creative, community-centered events.
