About
Janosch Weiss is a Berlin-based artist and photographer whose work focuses on the dynamics between humans and nature, as well as on themes such as perception, memory, and identity. His works challenge the traditional relationship between figure and background by blurring the lines between them. Navigating the tension between humans as both a part of nature and its shapers or destroyers, his images seek to strike a conciliatory balance. In the creative process, the boundaries between humans, nature, and technology blur into a symbiosis. Through movement and immersion in natural textures, bodies merge into new forms. His projects, such as “HUMAN·NATURE” and “ephemeral,” emphasize the fleeting, dreamlike nature of all things, with colors, textures, and organic compositions taking center stage. His exhibitions, including “RECONVERGENCE,” “NATIVE,” “essere insita,” and “ephemeral / HUMAN·NATURE,” have been shown internationally in Germany, Brazil, and Italy. The exhibition “IT IS ON US” addresses the urgent need for people to reconnect with one another and to overcome the perceived separation of humanity from nature. The works counter increasing polarization and alienation with visual and symbolic optimism—in his works, Janosch Weiss demonstrates how, through conscious engagement and reconnection, the rigid boundaries between the individual, the community, and nature can become permeable once again. The exhibition invites visitors to embark on a visual and emotional journey of rethinking and to explore the possibility of a new, yet ancient, coexistence.
