Urbane Künste ERbeLEBEN – die (n)olympische Stadt

_Urbane Künste ERbeLEBEN_ is showcasing the outcomes and processes of the art projects that school pupils have carried out over recent months in collaboration with architects and artists on the theme of 'The (n)Olympic City'. Among other things, the projects explored questions such as: What would the Olympics mean for a city like Berlin? How do 'the Games' relate to issues such as representation, propaganda, cosmopolitanism, gentrification and participation? Can the spontaneous, more improvised forms of sport practised by young people serve as a source of inspiration for 'doing things differently'? The nine art projects on display reveal the ideas, reflections, motivations and questions that children and young people have regarding sport in an urban context. _Urbane Künste ERbeLEBEN_ is a programme that, since 2018, has been inviting children and young people in Berlin to contribute to the design of public spaces as creative city dwellers and to shape them using artistic methods. In light of the current debate surrounding Berlin's bid to host the Olympic Games, _Urbane Künste ERbeLEBEN_ is, for the first time, establishing an interdisciplinary link between art, urban development and sport. Schools: Carl-von-Linné-Schule, Evangelische Schule Berlin Mitte (ESBM), Evangelische Schule Berlin Zentrum (ESBZ), Grundschule Neues Tor, Kurt-Schwitters-Schule, John-Lennon-Gymnasium, Max-Planck-Gymnasium and Theodor Heuss Gemeinschaftsschule. Participating teachers: Ariane Konetzka, Carola Seiboth, Christian Babbel, Diana Hannak, Gabriela Vasquez Pacheco, Iris Musolf, Marie Kirchner, Sofia Ferreira, Ulrich Riedel and Uta Päffgen.
