Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg

Under the title "Surreal Worlds", paintings, sculptures and works on paper are shown on two floors. Over 250 works trace the history of fantastic art. At the centre of the collection is Surrealism, a movement for the renewal of art whose principles were proclaimed in a manifesto by André Breton in Paris in 1924. Almost all members of the Surrealist group are represented with selected works.
