About

The drawing of the same name by Matthias Beckmann illustrates what is currently happening in the model room of the Hegenbarth Collection Berlin. We are highlighting our transformation process into the Kleistpark image laboratory. Beckmann is documenting the construction site until its planned completion in the middle of next year. His freehand drawings of the construction progress were the deciding factor for this inspiring constellation: three models give a first taste of the new building. Original works of art on paper complement the presentation and illustrate our future image work. With spatial illusions, building views and cityscapes from the collection, the space itself becomes the subject here. In our model space, we are presenting a rotating selection of works by artists including James Ensor (1860—1949), Otto Freundlich (1878—1943), Isa Genzken (b. 1948), Stanley William Hayter (1901—1981), Josef Hegenbarth (1884—1962), Fernand Léger (1881—1955), Ernst Wilhelm Nay (1902—1968), Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720—1778), Dieter Roth (1930—1998), Pietro Testa (1611—1650), and from the circle of Lukas van Valckenborch (1535—1597) (.
